I'd like to know more about the word sayati: which form of the verb is this, what is its root, ...?

Ahlan khaemwaset;
The root is ATA,, where the first A is short while the last one is long.
The letter S in SAYATI is an indicator for future,, means (will) and the Y is the masculine present tense indicator.
In Arabic, to make future tense, you need to form the present tense first then add S or SAWFA,, both means will.
What happened in SAYATI is: We formed the present tense from ATA which YATI (masculine) or TATI (feminine). Then we added the S or SA (both same) to make it future.
To summarize it, ATA (came) >> YATI/TATI (He/She comes)>> SAYATI/SATATI (He/She will come)
